While our opinion might be a little biased, it’s worth remembering that long before the current wave of girls with electric guitars took over, Maggie was already there. Back in 2019 she teamed up with Travis Barker of Blink-182 for Friends Go— a track that merged pop edge with punk attitude, giving Maggie space to shred with one of the genre’s legends.
The music video itself was a nod to Blink-182’s Stockholm Syndrome homemade video — lo-fi, chaotic, and raw — a perfect backdrop for Maggie’s reinvention at the time.
Fast forward to now, and the aesthetic Maggie tapped into — guitars, grit, and unapologetic style — has become the look for a whole generation of new artists. But Friends Go shows she was already pushing those boundaries years ago, carving out space in a scene that’s only just catching up.
A true throwback, and a reminder that Maggie didn’t just follow the trend — she helped set it.
