News: Maggie lindemann

hayley williams has been a huge inspiration to me in my career. i watch a lot of her live performances to see the way she interacts with the crowd, because that has never come naturally to me and i really admire her authenticity. she is an amazing songwriter and vocalist. paramore will always be my biggest inspiration. i love this cover they did of "someday" by the strokes. the song is an indie rock anthem that captures the angst and uncertainty of youth. it's a reflection on the bittersweet nature of growing up and the importance of making mature decisions to find true fulfillment in life. as a child life seems so carefree and full of endless possibilities but as we grow older, we realize that nothing stays the same forever. the way hayley sings the chorus and the line about lacking depth and needing to mature to find the meaning of life is so raw. the lyrics referencing the importance of working hard to avoid being stuck working hard for the rest of one's life. this cover is amazing.

as we kick off march, which is women's history month, i wanted to take the opportunity to shine a light on some of the incredible female artists and creatives who have paved the way for women in the music industry. and for me, there are few who have been as influential as no doubt and gwen stefani.

from the very first time i heard gwen's unique voice, i was hooked. her introspective lyrics and insane hooks spoke to me in a way that few other artists could. i was in awe of her ability to capture such raw emotion and vulnerability in her music, and to use her platform to speak out about important issues. her fearlessness and passion for her craft have inspired me to be true to myself and to create music that is honest and authentic.

above is one of my favorite performances from no doubt, their 1995 concert in anaheim, california for the live in the tragic kingdom video album. i used to study this performance!

as we celebrate women's history month, i want to encourage all of you to take some time to discover and appreciate the incredible female artists and creatives who have come before us, and who continue to inspire us to this day. whether it's gwen stefani, or any other female artist who has had an impact on your life, let's celebrate their contributions and keep their legacies alive.
